DISPLAY DETAILS

SIGN COMPUTER

The Sign Computer (shown on the right in the picture) controls all data sent to the Scoreboard.

Full color Display Sequences are programmed into this Computer, and can be instantly recalled and displayed on the Scoreboard.

The Operator can synchronize the Display Frames with the Announcer's presentation, for example when a Sponsor Flag Run is made, each Sponsor's Frame will be displayed on the Scoreboard at the time the Flag is making its run.  Another example of synchronization would be displaying the names of Rodeo Royalty as each one is introduced.

The number of Sequences that can be created is virtually limitless.  Unique Sequences can be created for use during ancillary functions to the main event such as Demolition Derbies, Tractor Pulls, Queen Coronations, etc.

In addition to displaying Sequences in the Sign Computer itself, this Computer is interfaced with a Rodeo Results Computer to pass through and display Event Statistics.

RESULTS COMPUTER

The Rodeo Results Computer (shown on the left in the picture) maintains all Time and Score information for the Event.

A file containing the Rodeo Contestants is obtained from ProCom and loaded into the Results Computer.  From the total list of Contestants a Performance is built to enable rapid selection of each Contestant in a particular performance.

As Times are recorded, or Scores from the Judges are entered, the Results Computer passes this information to the Sign Computer for display on the Scoreboard.  When a Contestant receives a Time or a Score, the Results Computer instantly calculates the Contestant's standings for both the current GO and for the Average.

A Slave Monitor  with the Results Computer inforation is available to the Announcer, permitting the Announcer to inform the Spectators of the Contestant standings.

Additional information may be obtained from the Results Computer, such as the Time or Score a Contestant must obtain to place him/her in the lead in the GO or the Average.

If there is a Short Round (or Finals), the Results Computer will, upon request, immediately build a Finals Performance with the selected number of Finals participants.

TRANSLATION COMPUTER

A third Translation Computer, which requires no Operator intervention, interfaces the latest Wireless Farmtek Timing Equipment with the Rodeo Results Computer.

Introduction of the Translation Computer and the Fermtek Timers eliminated the need to run a hard wire to the Barrel Timers, and provides the Rodeo Timers with a Wireless Handswitch to Start/Stop the Timer itself.  This enbles the Rodeo Timers to position themselves at a location that best serves their needs without being tethered to the Timer.

In addition to interfacing the Timer to the Rodeo Results Computer, the Translation Computer provides timing signals to the Sound System to automate certain aspects of the Sound (discussed further on the SOUND SYSTEM page).
